Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Overview:

The course will provide an extensive overview of personal protective equipment (PPE) and its various types. It will also educate you on the potential hazards that PPE can safeguard you from, and the correct methods for selecting and maintaining PPE.

The course will commence with a concise introduction to the different types of PPE and how to identify workplace hazards that necessitate the use of PPE.

Furthermore, you will gain knowledge on the appropriate selection and maintenance of PPE, along with the training prerequisites for PPE users.

Throughout the course, you will delve into the specifics of each type of PPE. This will begin with an examination of eye, face, and head protection, encompassing safety glasses, goggles, face shields, and hard hats.

Subsequently, you will acquire a comprehensive understanding of respiratory protection, including the various types of respirators available, along with the additional training, fit testing, and program requirements.

The course will then proceed to cover hand and foot protection, such as gloves and safety shoes, followed by hearing protection. You will learn about the additional requirements pertaining to occupational noise exposure, and how to select the appropriate protection based on the noise level.

Lastly, the course will address fall protection, including the different types of personal fall protection systems, their components, and the proper methods for selecting and maintaining them.

This course is aimed at people in the workplace who require the use of PPE to safely carry out tasks that involve or could create hazardous materials and situations. This includes workers who require training in order to safely carry out tasks and their supervisors or managers who may need to ensure PPE is being used correctly.

TSS Facilities Ltd is a facilities management company based in Hove, Sussex. The company has been trading for 47 years and covers four main disciplines - commercial heating, electrical, air conditioning and legionella. TSS Facilities holds maintenance contracts with universities, schools, hotels and local authorities.
